"Several Karnataka BJP MLAs Trying To Reach Out To Us’, Claims Shivakumar After Shinde Comparison"

Corruption Within BJP Raises Questions on Stability

Karnataka Deputy CM Fires Back

As infighting within the ruling Congress party continues to make headlines, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has fired back at critics, claiming that the party is "united" and that several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs are in touch with the party.

In a recent statement, Shivakumar said, "Let BJP keep its house in order first. As some of my ministers have said, several BJP MLAs are trying to reach out to us. So, already my minister has said it. I don’t want to discuss that. It (BJP) is a broken house. Congress is a united house," he told news agency ANI.

Multiple BJP MLAs Showing Interest in Joining Congress

The statement comes amid reports of infighting within the Karnataka Congress, following an event where Shivakumar shared the stage with spiritual leader Sadhguru and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, sparking a row. The move was seen as a surprising development, considering the strong rivalry between the two parties.

However, Shivakumar clarified that his decision to attend the event was purely religious, saying, "Sadhguru is from Karnataka. He has been fighting for the cause of Cauvery water. He came and invited me personally. He has a huge following. He is doing some great work. MLAs and leaders of various political parties were there. So, I went there."

Comparisons with Eknath Shinde

The Karnataka BJP, however, has compared Shivakumar to Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, implying that he might be able to engineer a split within the Congress party in Karnataka. "There are many in Congress who could be like Eknath Shinde, DK Shivakumar might be one of them," said Leader of Opposition R Ashoka.

Karnataka BJP chief BY Vijayendra also claimed that infighting has increased within the Congress party, which has been in power since 2023.

What Does it Mean for the Future?

The developments have set off alarm bells within the Congress party, with several leaders questioning the stability of the government. The party is already facing internal rifts, and such tensions could further exacerbate the situation. The BJP, on the other hand, is keen to capitalize on the situation, trying to create more divisions within the party.

Will the Congress Party Survive the Infighting?

Only time will tell if the Congress party can overcome its internal issues and maintain its grip on power. For now, the opposition BJP is trying to capitalize on the infighting, while the Congress party is trying to navigate the complex political landscape. Will the party be able to overcome the challenges ahead remains to be seen.

Conclusion

The controversy surrounding DK Shivakumar and the infighting within the Congress party has sent shockwaves across the political landscape. The party is struggling to maintain stability, while the opposition BJP is trying to take advantage of the situation. Only time will tell if the Congress party will be able to overcome its internal issues and maintain its grip on power.
