In light of the Navratri festival that begins from 7 October and lasts still 15 October, the Maharashtra government has prohibited cultural celebrations amid fears of large gatherings causing to problems resulting in a third wave.

The state government in its circular said that the threat of Covid-19 is still looming large and crowding during the festive season will not be a good idea
Height and Crowd Restrictions
The popular Garba and Dandiya dances have been restricted, as has the height of idols to four feet for community pandals and two feet for households celebrations.
Community pandals have been asked to conduct online darshans and stipulated not more than five people can congregate any given point of time at the community pandals.
The community mandals should make arrangements for online darshan of the idols through cable, websites, and social media platforms, stated the circular.
Food and beverage
The order has further prohibited large-scale consumption of food and beverages in community pandals.
Health Camps and Blood Donations
The circular suggests to give priority to health camps such as blood donation and awareness of malaria and dengue prevention in addition to COVID-19.
Immersions and Noise Pollution
The government advisory suggests not to organise any procession either for arrival or immersions of the idols, keeping noise levels in check. The traditional ?aarti? shall be performed at home, instead of the immersion places.
Children and senior citizens have also been asked to avoid going for immersions.
