Ishant Sharma, the Indian fast bowler, recently took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, marking his visit to the Mahakumbh 2025, a significant religious event in India. The event, which began on January 12, will conclude on February 26, the same day as Maha Shivratri.
The 37-year-old pacer, who has over 300 Test wickets to his name, recently joined the Gujarat Titans team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, with a base price of ₹75 lakh. Ishant took to Instagram to share pictures from his "sacred dip" at Mahakumbh, expressing his inner peace and spiritual connection.

Ishant Sharma is expected to play for the Gujarat Titans in the upcoming IPL season, which is set to begin on March 22, with the first match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers’ Bangalore.

Ishant is not the only cricketer to have visited the Mahakumbh this year. In January, former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina also visited the event to take a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam. Raina, known for his performance for the Indian national team, proudly claimed that Uttar Pradesh (UP) is his "karma bhoomi" (birthplace).

Singer Kailash Kher and film producer Boney Kapoor recently took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam, as seen in the pictures going viral on social media. Kapoor, known for his blockbuster films like "Ms Dhoni" and "Shamitabh", praised the spiritual experience, saying, "I have come here many times, but once, I had brought my grandfather’s ashes. After that, I came for an event in Prayagraj, but I had never seen such a sight before. The entire atmosphere here… There are so many people in our India. I now believe that our country has a population of 140 crore, 150 crore."

Earlier, business magnate Mukesh Ambani, along with his family, and Apple founder Steve Job’s widow Laurene Powell, were among the many celebrities who took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam. Indian celebrities like Anupam Kher, Tamannaah Bhatia, and others have also visited the event.

The Mahakumbh 2025, held at Prayagraj, is the largest religious gathering in India, attracting millions of devotees from across the country and beyond. The event began on January 12 and will conclude on February 26. According to the Uttar Pradesh government, over 607.4 million devotees have taken a dip in the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati, as of February 25.
