?Aman Aur Jawan Aman Hai Muqam? – Army belongs to the people and its commitment will last as long as the involvement of the people lasts. An intense ideology that stands firm within the Indian Army for its civic action initiative ? Op- Sadbhavana.
The operation launched back in 1998 includes a wide range of activities across the entire spectrum of development and demonstrate the ?humane face? of the Indian Army, and has ensured that the projects are planned as per needs of the local population and are handed over to the state administration on completion.
As a part of it, Indian Army has undertaken a large number of Military Civic Action programme aimed at ?Wining the Hearts and Minds? of the people in J&K and North Eastern States, as part of a strategy for conflict resolution.
In recent, a Vet Aid Camp was organized by Indian Army at Sialmari Gaon of Darrang district of Assam on Wednesday. Locals from the nearby villages such as Jakuapara, Kasomari and Sonaribasti of Darrang district (Assam), and vicinity participated in the camp to get their domesticated animals including cows, buffaloes, sheeps, goats and hen treated free of cost by the specialized clinicians.
As a part of Army?s continued endeavors towards providing basic veterinary facilities to the people living in remote areas under Op-Sadbhavana initiative. The camp was undertaken. A team comprising of army personnel, well qualified veterinary doctors from the district veterinary department and a pharmacist provided treatment to about 750 animals on this camp.
Veterinary medicines were also distributed as a part of veterinary health awareness initiative. The camp catered for all types of veterinary ailments faced by local livestock & domestic animals and helped to augment the veterinary doctors serving in the area.
On conclusion of the camp, local populace appreciated the efforts of the army by expressing their gratitude and desire for more frequent veterinary camps in the future.
