Rahul Dravid Makes a Comeback to the Cricket Field for KSCA Third Division Match

In a surprise move, former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid, who is set to coach the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2025, made a return to the cricket field for a KSCA third division match. He joined his son Anvay in the Sri Nassur Memorial Shield 3rd division game against the Young Lions Club, which was a significant event in the cricketing world.

At 52, Dravid is no doubt well past his playing prime, but his passion for the game is evident in his decision to don the helmet and bat. The veteran cricketer, who is widely regarded as one of the icons of Indian cricket, was seen playing for the Vijaya Cricket Club (Malur), which was put into bat after losing the toss. Dravid’s son Anvay, who is an emerging wicketkeeper-batter, scored 58(60) in the match, while Dravid himself scored 10(8).

Dravid’s presence in the dressing room is expected to have a profound impact on the young players, who can learn from his dedication and discipline. This is an excellent opportunity for the emerging talent to learn from one of the legends of the game. Dravid’s experience and guidance will surely help the young players to improve their skills and take their game to the next level.

The article also highlights Dravid’s sons, Anvay and Samit, who are following in their father’s footsteps. Anvay, 16, is an emerging wicketkeeper-batter who has already shown great promise, having scored the highest run in the U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy 2023-24 for Karnataka. He has also represented the Vijaya Cricket Club in the U-14 league tournament of Karnataka.

Samit, the elder son, is an all-rounder who has represented India Under-19 in the home series against Australia U-19 in September 2024. Although he couldn’t play any matches in that series due to a knee injury, he has performed consistently for the state and was a crucial player in Karnataka’s Cooch Behar Trophy win last year.

The success of both Dravid’s sons is a testament to his influence on the next generation of cricketers. As a coach, his guidance will be invaluable, and his presence on the field is sure to inspire the young players to work harder and strive for excellence.
