On 14th April 2017, US military forces dropped a GBU-43/B Massive Ordinance Air Blast(MOAB) bomb, the biggest non-nuclear explosive, on the ISIS affected Achin district in the Nangarhar province of Afghanistan. According to reports, the 11-ton bomb, also known as the ?Mother of all Bombs?, has killed more than 90 militants eradicating an ISIS controlled complex of underground tunnels and bunkers.

The air strike in the Eastern Afghanistan region comes just a week after the US destroyed a Syrian air base which was seen as a direct response to the deadly chemical attack carried out by Assad Government on Syrian rebels.
